Airport Amman
Amman Queen Alia International Airport is the largest and most important airport in Jordan. Opened in 1983, the airport was named after the third wife of King Hussein of Jordan. Most of the air traffic at the airport is accounted for by the national carrier Royal Jordanian, which has its hub at Amman airport. Royal Jordanian also operates one of the lounges at the airport, the Crown Lounge. The second lounge is operated by the hotel chain Four Seasons. The easiest way to get from the airport to the capital Amman, which is located at a distance of 35 km or 27 miles from the airport, is by taking a taxi. Cab prices are fixed and displayed in the terminal. International car rental companies also have branches at the airport. Short-term parking spaces are to be found near the two terminals. The long-term parking is a little further from the terminal building. However, shuttle buses run at 10 minute intervals and will transfer passengers from the long-term car parks to the terminal.
