Airport Paris

Paris - Charles de Gaulle Airport was named after the former French president (in French: Aéroport Paris-Charles de Gaulle) and is the largest of the airports in Paris. Behind the British airport London-Heathrow it is also the second largest European airport. About 58 million passengers are handled every year at Paris CDG. Many of these have booked a last-minute flight or short trip to the French capital city. A weekend in Paris is perfect for visiting the famous sights and tourist attractions in this most romantic of cities, including the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre Museum and Sacré-Cœur or Montmartre or even to go shopping along the famous Champs-Élysées. Cheap flights to Paris from London, Manchester or Birmingham are for example operated by Easyjet or Ryanair. Accommodation is widely available at the airport: the Sheraton Paris Airport Hotel is located directly in Terminal 2 (International Terminal). Near the airport (about 10 minutes by free shuttle bus) there is also the Hotel Holiday Inn Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. Passengers with connecting flights from Paris Orly airport can make use of the Air France shuttle bus (Les Cars line 3) with services from 6.30 am to 10.30 pm at 30-minute intervals from Charles de Gaulle to Orly. Buses operated by Les Cars also operate from the Airport Terminal 2 to most famous Parisian landmarks such as the Arc de Triomphe (line 2) as well as the Paris stations Gare de Lyon and Gare Montparnasse (both line 4). Transfer from Charles de Gaulle to Paris city centre is not a problem either with passengers having the option of taking the train (TGV fast train or regional train RER line B) to the train station Gare du Nord. Bus 350 goes to the Gare de l'Est, and the number 351 bus to the Place de la Nation. The centrally located Paris Opera House is served by the Roissy shuttle buses and visitors to Disneyland Paris or guests of the Disneyland hotels can use the VEA shuttle service from all terminals. The cost of individual journeys by bus or train is between about 8 and 19 euros. To rent a car at CDG airport please head for the car rental services in Terminal 1 or 2. Desks are open every day from 6 am to midnight.
