Airport Phuket
Phuket airport is located directly on the beach and is used by millions of passengers a year, a large part of the traffic is due to the tourist resorts on the island. In terms of passenger volume, Phuket is the second largest airport in Thailand, coming after Bangkok airport. Phuket is located about 30 km or 23 miles from the city of Phuket, which is the capital of the island. An airport bus runs to the capital at 90-minute intervals every day. Many hotels in Phuket operate a free transfer to and from the airport. In addition, there are, of course, car rental offices and taxi ranks at the airport. In the immediate vicinity of the terminal there are about 440 parking spaces. Other facilities at the airport include cafes, restaurants, shops as well as a first aid centre and currency exchange bureau. Many flights to Phuket involve a stopover in Bangkok. Flights are for example operated by Thai airways or Malaysia Airlines.
