Airport Singapore

The international airport Singapore (Singapore Changi Airport - Changi due to its vicinity to the village Changi) is one of the 20 largest airports in the world and amongst the ten largest airports in Asia. Flights from Singapore to London are operated by Singapore Airlines, Royal Brunei Airlines or Emirates airlines, usually with one stopover. As of 2008 Singapore airlines have been flying from London to Singapore with an Airbus A380. Emirates airline also operates cheap flights to Singapore Changi with stopovers in Dubai for example. Singapore airport is one of the most modern airports in the world. Built on a huge area of reclaimed swamp, the airport was opened in 1981. Facilities at the airport include the usual shops and restaurants etc. in the terminals, along with the Singapore Airport pool - which is part of the airport's transit hotel Ambassador and is located on the roof of Terminal 1. There is also a butterfly garden in Terminal 3 as well as Duty Free shopping, a lounge, baggage storage, and accommodation at the airport. Along with the Ambassador Transit Hotel the exclusive Crowne Plaza Changi Airport hotel is located a few metres north west of the airport. The Changi Village Hotel lies right by the sea and is particularly inviting after a tiring flight with its rooftop spa pool that guests can relax in after landing. Many other hotels in downtown Singapore offer their guests a shuttle service, ie. free shuttle services to and from the airport to Singapore.
