Airport Toronto
Toronto airport bears the official name Toronto Pearson International Airport. In terms of passenger volume, it is the largest airport in Canada. Toronto airport is named after the former Prime Minister of Canada and the recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize in 1957, Lester B. Pearson. The airport opened in 1939. It is located about 27 km or 17 miles from the city centre and has two terminals, which bear the significant names T1 and T3. Following the expansion of Terminal 3, the former Terminal 2 was closed in 2007. Between the two terminal buildings and the long-term car parks, Value Park Lot and Value Park Garage, there is a free train shuttle service. The easiest way to get to central Toronto is by taxi. Prices are fixed in advance and based on tariff zones. The current prices of the tariff zones are available on the airport website. A public transport network of buses also serves the airport. Several buses from Toronto and the surrounding cities Brampton and Mississauga stop at the airport. Bus stops are located near the terminal. Passengers arriving particularly late in Toronto may stay at the Sheraton Gateway Hotel, which has direct access to Terminal 3.
