Tel Aviv Airport

Tel Aviv-Ben Gurion International Airport was formerly called Lod Airport and was built in 1975 in the city of Lod, later to be renamed after the first prime minister of Israel David Ben Gurion. Tel Aviv airport is the most important airport in Israel. And the only one from which international flights are operated. The Israeli airline El Al is based at Ben Gurion airport and in 2005 was stretched to a capacity of 56%. The airport is famous for its security measures and controls of vehicles entering the airport grounds. Between the airport terminals, the arrivals lounge and the long-term car park there are regular shuttle buses which operate every 15 minutes.
