Tenerife South Airport
Tenerife South Airport, also called Reina Sofia Airport (after Queen Sofia of Spain, who inaugurated the airport on 6.11.2007), is the larger and busier of the two airports on the island of Tenerife in the Canaries. The airport is one of the 10 busiest airports in Spain and, due to the year round mild climate on the Canary Islands, has no off-season. It is served almost daily by tourists coming from mainly England and Germany. The airport is operated by AENA, who are also responsible for monitoring Spanish airspace.
